02The room

You've been to bars.
This is a room.

The main room at Superluna, packed, lit magenta and green
The main floor, 01:14

One long marble bar, sixty-eight bottles of agave, a Funktion-One rig that costs more than the lease, and absolutely nowhere to hide.

We opened in a former print shop off Chapultepec because it had concrete, height and neighbours who go to bed early. Everything since has been about one thing: making a room where the drink in your hand and the record in the air are having the same conversation.

No bottle sparklers. No queue theatre. Just a very good sound system and people who came to use it.

    04The booth

    Residents,
    not bookings.

Four people with keys to the room. They play what they want, they play it long, and they've all been told to stop at 3 a.m. more than once.

    05The crowd

    The 220 people
    who make it worth it.

We can build the room. We can't build this. Photographed on a point-and-shoot every Friday since 2019.
